Flying on the Pan Am Clipper was 1st Class all the way... and passengers paid for the privledge.

However, since we are looking at the year 1939, dollars then were not at all the same as dollars now.

TASQUE:

1) Create a new slide and call it "Costs"

Research how much a ticket from California to Manilla would be for 1 adult and use this converter to change that into 2021 dollars and show the cost of that ticket on your slide.

2) Everyone dressed in their best to fly first class on the Pan Am Clipper. Do some quick research into how much an outfit for ONE DAY would cost. Remember, we're not looking for everyday clothing but some pretty nice looking threads. (I'd recomend a search like "Sears Men's Catalog 1939" or "Sears Women's Catalog 1939" or just plain "Sears Catalog 1939" and be sure and click on "images". Scroll through those images and find a nice set of clothing for one day. Copy the image into your slide and show the cost in 2022 dollars.

3) Research the cost of a hotel room in Honolulu (Hawaii) in 1939 or in Manila or in China and add that to your slide too.

4) It might be interesting to add the cost of a meal here and there too!

Now please write a journal entry in your 'diary' that talks about the costs of the varous items on your trip. Please keep in mind these are not bulletted notes, but part of your written diary as if you were actually there on the trip, or perhaps just completed your journey.
